Frequently Asked Questions...
I posted a question 3 days ago, I have had responses but not adequate enough.?
I have an antique doll. She has a Porcelain head, with jointed composition? body. She was originally bought back from the Boar War in France? (1899-1902). She has pierced ears with a little pearl ear ring. My mother had her given to her as a young girl (early 1920s), she was then passed onto me about 50 years ago. I no longer have a beneficiary for her. I am trying to get a valuer er to value her, unsuccessfully. I live at the very bottom of WA. I was in Perth yesterday but could not find a valuer er in the CBD. Can anybody help me. I have been told that she could be worth in the vicinity of $3,000 - $4,000/
Answer:
I would suggest to visit or call a local antique dealer in your area who will suggest an appraiser for you. Another route you can take is to call your insurance company. They too can give you direction to names of appraisers in your area. Please be careful how you word your questions...to suggest you have a valuable item and to say you have no beneficiary for it can alert scammers who could try to take your money/belongings/whatever. I know it is none of my business, just be careful. I think it best you call around and get referrals in that manner for your item.
