Collecting Candle Making Ideas

Crude candles aided primitive peoples in creating artwork on cave walls deep beneath the Earth. In many cultures throughout history people placed candles in their windows to welcome passing strangers into their homes where they could find food and a roof over their heads for the night. During the Middle Ages, people put candles in their windows to guide the Christ child, whom they believed wandered through the world in search of a place to stay; on that night no wayfarer was turned away.

Once upon a time candles were a necessity. As you consider the right kinds of candles to bring into your home, start by looking at the shape. If you are going for a one candle centerpiece, you may want to implement a candleholder into the equation.

Not only are they romantic, but they can also really show the special person in your life just how much you care. Just think of all the positives they possess. Valentine candles are easy to find and they are available in many aromas that are pleasing to the senses. Candles provide a great way of brightening and freshening any room. Aromatherapy for candle making ideas come in a wide variety of scents and colors. Romantic candles are suited for any occasion where you and your significant other will be spending an evening together. Scented romantic candles can also add the perfect touch to a special occasion like Valentine’s Day, an anniversary or even a private birthday dinner.

Candle making has been around since 3000 BC. Non-organic candles made from chemicals and synthetics that emit toxic chemical into the air when burnt where as organic candles burn 100% pure and clean. The fragrances in regular candles are chemically based were as organic candle maker's use 100% pure essential oils as their scents. Generally, it is a vegetable wax base and is scented with pure essential oils.

A birthday candle marks that important occasion in your life. These days, aromatherapy candles are quite popular. Tea light candles make good floating candles and look very appealing as decorative pieces. Fireplace candelabra can accent your hearth and your home with their warm glow.

Answer:

Hey, L,

Look at the third photo under the images for Barbour Silver Co. on this page:

http://www.925-1000.com/silverplate_B.html

Is that your maker's mark?

Barbour was founded in Hartford, CT, in the 1880's, and was absorbed into the International Silver Co. around 1889 -- although International continued to produce silver and silverplate products using the marks of their subsidiaries. One forum member at the site I linked to above notes that International continued to use the windmill & pipes until the 1930s.

Anyhow, if that's the co. you're looking for, here's some other URLs I turned up in my searching:

Of course, you can now just Google for "barbour silver," too. I didn't find any Google results matching both Barbour and 3381, however. Perhaps the number on your piece is actually something else, but just difficult to read?

I hope all this helps you out!
